The short version

Your tracking data stays on your device by default. Binthezyn does not collect it, store it on a server, or sell it. Nothing extra is sent anywhere unless you turn it on yourself, in Settings.

Data on your device

Everything you log, pouches, purchases, notes, goals, and settings, is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device, with a copy mirrored into your browser's IndexedDB storage so the app can work offline. This never leaves your device on its own.

Export

The export feature in Settings creates a JSON file containing your full history: days logged, purchases, settings, and goal. That file is created and downloaded by your own browser. Binthezyn's servers never see it unless you choose to send it somewhere yourself, such as attaching it to an email.

Analytics: three levels, off by default

Settings has an analytics choice with three levels. You choose the level. Nothing above "off" is active until you pick it.

Off (default)

No analytics of any kind. No third-party script is loaded.

Basic

Google Analytics 4 page views and a small number of product events (for example, viewing a tab, logging a pouch, adding a purchase, exporting, or sharing). These are tied only to GA4's own pseudonymous identifier, not to anything that identifies you personally. IP address handling follows Google's standard practice for GA4. The script only loads after you choose this level or the next.

Research

Everything in Basic, plus one daily summary event containing that day's pouch count, milligrams, whether it was marked pouch-free, your goal type, how many days you have tracked in total, and your 7-day average. No free text, no notes, and nothing else identifying is included. This is described here because a summary built from these events, in aggregate across many people, may be used in future public writing about nicotine pouch use. Individual data is never published or shared individually.

You can change or turn off analytics at any time in Settings under Analytics. Changing the level takes effect immediately and only affects data going forward.

Feedback form

The feedback form in Settings sends your message, and an email address if you choose to include one, by email to the developer through Resend. It is not stored in any database or analytics system, only delivered as an email. Cloudflare Turnstile runs on this form to filter automated spam; it does not track you across the rest of the site.

Push reminders

If you turn on a reminder in Settings, your browser creates a push subscription (an endpoint your browser gives out for this purpose), and Binthezyn stores that endpoint along with your chosen reminder times and your timezone in Cloudflare KV, so the server knows when to trigger a notification. This is kept for up to 180 days and deleted immediately if you turn reminders off. The actual text of the notification is written on your device from your own local data; the server only ever knows that it is time to send a reminder of a given kind, never your counts, your goal, or your history.

Hosting and logs

Binthezyn is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare keeps standard request logs (things like IP address, timestamp, and requested path) as part of running the service, the same as most websites. Binthezyn does not add any analytics or tracking of its own to these logs.

Cookies

Binthezyn itself does not set any cookies. If you opt into Basic or Research analytics, Google Analytics may set its own; see Google's documentation for details on those.

Children

Binthezyn is not directed at people under the legal age for nicotine products in their region, and is not intended for use by anyone below that age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date at the top will change and the update will be described here in plain terms.
